A great reel gets even better… These venerable reels have a reputation so perfect, they haven’t changed in years – until now. Shimano has added their Super Stopper II? stainless steel roller bearing to totally eliminate handle backplay and provide instant drag engagement. The addition of a Power Roller? line roller reduces line twist and enhances the already smooth drag performance. Of course, the Baitrunner lever provides a secondary drag system – a tension-controlled free-spool that kicks in on demand while the bail is closed. Now you can plug and fish live bait with the same reel!

Shimano Tiagra Conventional 2-Speed Saltwater Reels

Shimano Tiagra Conventional 2-Speed Saltwater Reels

Smooth, powerful 2-speed reels for today’s performance-minded big game fisherman. Every model is machined from solid 7mm pipe stock aluminum for relentless strength and secure alignment under duress. Features smooth push-button shifting backed by permanently lubed A-RB? Anti-Rust Bearings for easy handling at all times. Traditional style drag curves on most models provide an area of low drag pressure just above strike level–great for holding baits in the wake, but light enough to reduce the chances of pulling the hook out of the fish’s mouth. LRS models feature a special drag curve for fishing heavy lines with extra-tight drag settings. Features include: Specially treated A-RB Anti-Rust Bearings–at least 10 times more corrosion resistant than standard stainless steel bearings Metal frames keep moving parts in precise alignment for increased efficiency and durability Permalube? lubrication for effortless freespooling and long-term protection Ratcheting drag lever eliminates play due to boat vibration Twin Disk Drag System (Ti16 and Ti130 only) effectively doubles the drag surface for a wider range of settings and increased durability Offset ergonomic power grip with soft, nonslip Septon? grip (all models except Ti12 and Ti16) allows natural hand, arm and wrist angles for greater power and comfort Line recovery in inches per handle turn.

Shimano Torsa Saltwater Reels

Shimano Torsa Saltwater Reels

Winner of the American Sportfishing Associations’ 2005 ICAST New Product Showcase for Best in Category (Reels) and Overall Best of Show. Convention and experience says that lower gear ratios mean more power, and higher gear ratios mean less power. But fishing has never seen anything quite like Shimano?s Torsa?a high-speed, high-power, lever-drag saltwater reel that?s extremely versatile and castable. Speed and Power To achieve maximum power with a high-speed retrieve, the Torsa uses an extremely large drive gear?the largest in Shimano?s history. Due to the oversized sideplate and spool, the Torsa is able to accommodate an extremely large drag washer in relation to the size of the reel. This washer delivers an incredible range of drag pressures, while also providing low startup inertia (the energy required to get the spool to start spinning) for an extremely smooth drag. Castability Thanks to meticulous machining of the Torsa’s cold-forged aluminum spool, the overall weight of the spool is reduced, resulting in lower startup inertia. This means it takes less energy to get the spool spinning, reducing the likelihood of backlash. Since most of the spool’s mass is distributed outward, the spool spins longer, with more consistent speeds than heavier spools. The Torsa’s Variable Brake System (VBS?) slows the spool’s rotation at the beginning of the cast, and once the spool slows, the brakes retreat, providing anglers with a consistent spool speed for more manageable casts. Plus, the spool lip on the handle side of the reel is higher than the non-handle side of the reel, giving anglers a smooth, consistent surface to thumb during the cast. Rapid Fire? Quick-Change Drag Cam System The amount of drag that is increased or decreased when the drag lever is moved can be easily described as ”drag curve.” Most drag curves throughout the fishing reel industry are very similar: a gradual increase in drag pressure from the freespool position to the full position. With the new Rapid Fire Quick-Change Drag Cam System found exclusively inTorsa, this versatile reel can change to cater to specific techniques. By simply putting the reel into freespool and backing off the preset knob, you can remove the drag cam from the reel. Then, by inserting one of 8 available Rapid Fire drag cams, you completely change how the reel is set up to fish within a matter of seconds. No tools required, and no screws to fall onto the deck of the boat. (Torsa includes the all-purpose Long Range Special drag cam. All other cams sold separately.) Shimano? Rapid-Fire? Quick-Change Drag Cams sold separately and can be found through item search for item number 38-352-192-00 Additional Features: 8 A-RB? ball bearings and 1 roller bearing Super Stopper? with Assist Stopper Forged and machined aluminum frame, spool and sideplates Ratcheting drag lever Ergonomic power handle Line recovery in inches per handle turn.
